Practices various sports, including sailing: was among the first Italians to reach Antarctica on a sailing boat with a Franco-Dutch crew; rounded Cape Horn twice; participated in the European Star Class Championships in Denmark in 1993, selected for the World Star Class Championships in 1993.
Equestrian sports: traditional until 2000, then only natural horsemanship and carriage driving.
